Proud to be a Builder!

I come from a small town in Western Kansas, and my decision to come to school here at Southwestern was crazy but bold to most of my friends from home. I was moving far away to a region of Kansas that’s a mystery to us Westerners, I didn't know a single soul, and I would not be unable to come home on the weekends very easily.

I must say that coming to Southwestern was the best decision I made and it has transformed my life greatly. My life down here in Winfield is so much different than my life up in WaKeeney, and I can’t imagine myself anywhere else. My friends from back home don't understand this. However, this weekend a friend from home is coming to visit me for the first time, and I am totally pumped for her to come. I am so excited to introduce her to my friends, my school, and basically my new life. I hope she likes it as much as I do, and hopefully she will finally understand why I love it down here and why I choose to stay here instead of moving closer to home.
