Hittin The Hardwood!

The men's and women's basketball seasons have begun and are heating up here at Southwestern College!

The women's team, under the direction of Dave Denly, have rocketed off to a 2-0 start after beating Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College 110-33 this past Friday evening, and defeating Central Methodist University 71-67 on Saturday. Both games were a part of the annual Tara Patterson Memorial Classic at Southwestern, honoring the memory and legacy of SC grad and former Lady Builder Tara Patterson who was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 2002.
The women travel next to Peru, NE tomorrow to take on Peru State College and then play Missouri Southern State this weekend at the Pittsburg State Classic.

The men's squad, coached by Doug Hall, are also 2-0. They kicked off their season this past Wednesday with a 110-72 victory over Manhattan Christian College and followed it up with an 86-77 win over Mid America Christian University. This week the men are also on the road. On Wednesday, they travel to the University of Science and Arts-Oklahoma, and Friday, they are on the road at Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College.
