Hey all,
Just checking in to let you know that on this cold, dreary Wednesday in Winfield, the fall sports teams at SC are warming up for a big rest of the week. Let's break down the schedule for them.
Tonight, the men's and women's soccer teams travel to McPherson College for what looks to be two highly contested matchups. Currently, the men, coached by Ruben Sanchez, are 3-8-1 (1-4) in the KCAC and are looking to snap a 4 game losing streak. The SC women, coached by Joe Wood, are tied for 3rd with McPherson in the KCAC with a 6-4-2 (2-2-1) record. The women will play at 5:30 pm and the men will take the field at 8:00 pm.
The action continues tomorrow with the fiery SC volleyball squad. After dropping yesterday's matchup to Kansas Wesleyan, the 7-12 (4-7) Lady Builder host the KCAC leaders: Friends University in Stewart Field House. The SC volleyball team has made massive improvements this year under the coaching of Cori Meyer, in her 3rd season as head coach. Several KCAC teams have been surprised by the Builders, and so the rest of the matches this year, including tomorrow evening's will be exciting games.
The men's golf team tomorrow will be in Silvis, Ill. for the NAIA Preview International. The invitational tournament, held every year in the fall, is hosted by St. Ambrose University. Coach Brad Sexson has several returners on his team and welcome some new faces to the golf squad as well.
That gets us through the next sporting events for Southwestern College for tonight and tomorrow, check back for previews of the sporting events in store for Southwestern College on Friday and Saturday!
