Hey gang,
Well, on Wednesday we updated you on the busy week of Southwestern sports and we only actually profiled matchups through yesterday, so here is a look ahead to the SC sports schedule for this weekend.
This weekend, the SC volleyball squad who are 7-13 (4-8), will travel to Sterling College for a tournament. They'll compete against Johnson and Wales University and the 4-19 (2-10) Sterling College Warriors.
The cross country teams are in action at home for the Southwestern College NAIA Mid-States Classic on Saturday. From the KCAC, Bethel College, McPherson College, Ottawa University, Tabor College, Sterling College, Bethany College and and Kansas Wesleyan University will be competing at this home SC meet.
Also this Saturday, the men's and women's soccer team will travel to Wichita to take on Friends University. The women, who are 6-5-2 (3-2-1) will take on the Lady Falcons at 6:00 pm. The men's soccer team, who are 3-9-1 (1-5) will compete against Friends at 8:00 pm.
And last but not least, the football team will also travel to Wichita on Saturday to take on Friends University. The SC football team is looking to gain it's first win of the season against a high powered Friends University team, coached by former Southwestern football coach Monty Lewis. Kickoff is at 1:30 pm and if you can't make the trip to Wichita, tune into the Moundbuilder Sports Network (KSWC FM 100.3 The Jinx, Cox Cable Channel 20, or online at www.buildersports.com) starting at 1 pm with 'The Ken Crandall Show' and all the action with Curt Caden and Matt Webb.
Phew, I think that's about it. Definitely not a shortage of great Builder sports action! Have a great weekend and Go SC!
